I'm starting to run out of MAC dupes but I have to admit, the 31 dupes was a little over ambitious so if I don't finish it, I'll continue another time. To compensate, here are a lot of MAC lipstick comparisons that I couldn't find dupes for.
Disclaimer: This post was not meant to bash anyone who stated or believe the above were dupes. The idea of "dupes" is extremely subjective - some people are fine with the same color family and other want it to be identical as in "duplicates". When I or others post dupes, it should always be taken with discretion. In many instances, the quality or color of dupes is better than the actual product and vice versa. Being more expensive doesn't equate to having good quality and saving money doesn't automatically make it a good financial decision. Don't buy a product because it's a dupe of something expensive; buy it because you like it.
(source). It's a classic pin up red - an orange red (this link is a great guide to MAC Red lipsticks). It will read more orange on cooler skintones and redder on warmer skintones. Traditionally speaking, this suits those with warmer skintones well but of course, makeup is about personal preference.
1) Wet'n'Wild Megalast in Purty Persimmon ($2) - Purty Persimmon is obviously more orange than Lady Danger with a touch more satin (it's more comfortable on the lips but less long wearing). But because of the similar finishes, the difference isn't noticible on the lips; it's an extremely close alternative. Place it over a red lip liner and it'll be exact. Purty Persimmon is also similar to MAC Scarlet Ibis but Scarlet Ibis is redder than Lady Danger.
1) Jordana Matte lipstick in Pink Passion ($2) - I couldn't find a true dupe of this lipstick but Pink Passion is a close alternative. It's slightly lighter, cooler, and more satin than Please Me. It's also less drying and more comfortable on the lips. There is a noticible difference but considering the lack of matte lipsticks in the drugstores, I was pretty pleased with Pink Passion. Jordana can be found at Walgreen, Duane Reade, Cherryculture.com, and more.
It's halfway through May and the 31 MAC Dupes Series. It's starting to get repetitive really fast (at least for someone like me who hates routine) so I thought I'd switch gears a bit and post the MAC Dupes Debunked now. Here are 5 popular MAC lipstick dupes whose (lack of) accuracy can speak for themselves...
