MAC Viva Glam Lipstick Collection

Ever since this post, I've made it a point to collect all of the MAC Viva Glam lipsticks ($15). All the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS fund as opposed to the usual 2-20% with most other products. (This is why MAC remains as one of my favorite brands!) 

During AIDS day in December 2012, MAC doubled the amount they would donate per lipstick which is when I hauled in the majority the lipsticks. Even though some of the colors aren't necessarily my cup of tea, donating is always a wonderful thing to do (plus they look better in real life than they do on the website!) I also love giving these lipsticks as gifts to friends and family because they double as a good cause.

Viva Glam I - intense brownish blue-red (matte)
Viva Glam II - muted pink-beige with shimmer (satin)
Viva Glam III - muted brownish-plum (matte)
Viva Glam IV - mid-tone rose with gold pearl (frost)
Viva Glam V - neutral pink with pearl (lustre)
Viva Glam VI - terracotta-plum with pearl (lustre)

  2. Wow, I'm really surprised at how different the swatch for III is compared to in the bullet!! Such a gorgeous color :) I don't personally own any of the Viva Glam lipsticks but I absolutely love the cause and your thoughts behind buying them all.

    1. I never noticed until you mentioned it! I think it's because it's a matte color so the color layers to be really dark.

      It really is a fantastic gift to give since it's $15 so it's not too expensive and I donate for some of my friend's birthday's anyway.

  6. Viva Glam II is a pretty every day color for me.
    I really adore Viva Glam Cyndi but it is now nowhere to be found, sobbing. I was too late for this train.

    1. I'm glad it suits you! I think it's too mauve for me.

      There are a lot of sheer red lipstick alternatives for Viva Glam Cyndi like Revlon Cherry Tart. I'm sure there's a dupe somewhere (I'll have to check my collection!).
