Flower Kiss Stick High-Shine Lipsticks in Coral Floret & Ginger Lily: Review, Swatches, Comparisons

After seeing how disappointing the Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Sticks were, I'm here to bring you good news. The Flower Kiss Stick High Shine lipsticks are much better! They are tremendously more pigmented, creamier, and don't dry out the lips the way the Velvet formula did. Due to the shiny finish, it photographs beautifully giving the look of a more healthy, fuller lip.
I like the look of the formula but I'm not in love with the wear. For such bold colors like the ones I've chosen (which btw - look practically identical...-_-), I prefer a less transfer resistant formula. This formula would work much better with lighter colors but lip balm is needed underneath as it is a tadbit drying for how creamy it is. Overall, I like the formula for photographs but the bold colors are too high maintenance for just going out!

Pigmentation: High
Pigmentation: High
Texture: Smooth, creamy
Pros: Glides on smoothly; comfortable feel; shiny finish; extremely pigmented;
good staying power (4-5 hours); fades evenly; no settling into lip lines; no feathering
Cons: Transfers easily; a little drying after 2 hours

Overall: B+, I love the pigmentation and the shiny finish but I was worrying the whole
time that it would smear onto my face or on my teeth! It's too creamy and even though
it lasts reasonably long, it wouldn't survive eating. I also wish that it was more moisturizing
for how creamy it was. It's less creamy and more transfer resistant than the NYX Round
Lipsticks so if you love those, you'll definitely love these!

Thank you! You're too sweet! I can see that happening. Here in the US there are some rough winters that dry out your lips so products like these are necessary. You should try the WnW MegaLast lipsticks or Covergirl Lip Perfection if you get the chance. NARS, MAC, and NYX also make fantastic matte lipsticks.
DeleteOh wow, those really do look almost identical!! What a shame, but at least the color is gorgeous on you :)

Aw thank you Cassie :) You're so sweet! It'd look gorgeous on you too!
DeleteI'm excited about Flower in general and do love moisturizing lipsticks. I would definitely just pick up one of these, though... SO similar!
ReplyDeleteHaha so similar is right! I think the lighter everyday shades would look fantastic. I need to pick one of those up.
DeleteThe Ginger Lily does look fantastic on you. Thanks for the comparisons, I was wondering about WNW Purty Persimmon but ick, too dark and too orange.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) WNW Purty Persimmon is actually a fantastic dupe of MAC Scarlet Ibis!
DeleteI bought these after reading your review. They seem so much lighter on me :/ i think i might prefer the other lipsticks
