MUA Makeup Academy 12 Shade Dusk til Dawn Palette: Review, Swatches

The MUA 12 Shade Palettes resemble the Sleek i-Divine palettes in packaging so the comparisons are intrinsic. I haven't tried many of the Sleek palettes but thus far, I really enjoy the MUA palettes. They are my favorite palettes for $5-$6. They are better than Wet'n'Wild Color Icons for me because they're so much easier to work with. They aren't powdery, create fallout, or shatter easily. They are easier to layer and blend because the pigmentation is buildable and the texture of the eyeshadows are creamier and velvet like (think of a blend betweeen L'Oreal Infalliables and regular eyeshadows). They feel similar to Sleek and bareMinerals eyeshadows.

This is the 3rd and last palette I have for review and while I don't enjoy it as much as MUA Heaven and Earth, I still adore it. The shimmers are refined for a glamorous, never over done look. The top row is fantastic for a neutral eye with some taupe and champagne shades while the bottom is for the daring splashes of blue and purple - a unique but divine choice of colors. I couldn't recommend them more. More US drugstore brands should come out with this buttery formula of eyeshadows.

                                                Price: £4 at muastore.co.uk (approx $5-6)
                                                Pigmentation: Medium, buildable
                                                Texture: soft, creamy, blendable
Pros: medium pigmentation, smooth texture, little fall out
Cons: teal shade can be a bit chalky
                                                Overall: B+/A-

  3. Really lovely shades in this palette. And I agree: the US should really take note from some UK drugstore brands on their buttery formulas!! Stay warm and safe in the Boston storm Jane... I hunkered down and waiting for it to all be over haha.
